The Ss. Cyril and Methodius University (UKIM) in Skopje, represents a functional community of 22 faculties, 5 research institutes and 11 accompanying members. At the moment, UKIM has around 50.000 enrolled students from FYROM in all cycles of studies, as well as over 700 foreign students.  It has more than 2300 teaching and scientific staff and over 300 associates that are engaged in the teaching, educational and scientific process at the faculties. UKIM has established long-term bilateral cooperation with 75 foreign universities participating in a very large number of international projects. This University is providing the most significant part of ICT experts for Macedonian labour market (http://www.ukim.edu.mk/en_index.php)

The Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering (FCSE) within the UKIM is the largest and most prestigious faculty in the field of computer science and technologies in FYROM, and among the largest faculties in that field in the region.

FCSE teaching staff includes many “best in field” personnel, such as the most referenced scientist in FYROM, the most influential professor in ICT industry in FYROM, etc. The FCSE Staff have participated as coordinator or participant in more than 200 international projects that cover majority of scientific fields in ICT.  The FCSE is currently involved in 10 international projects financed by EU (FP7, TEMPUS, COST), USA (NSA, Office of naval research, Department of Energy), bilateral projects with Germany (DAAD program) etc. The main focus of these projects vary from video conferencing including sophisticated interactivity, Optimization and Performance Enhancement of Complex Networks using Sensors, An Interactive Multi-Model for Consensus on Climate Change, Applications on Annotated graphs in system biology, different aspects on online presence and social networks, detection of intrusions in complex networks,  many fields in software engineering, etc.

The FSCE has direct intensive contact with the domestic business sectors in the field of information and communication technologies, as well as direct contact and cooperation with foreign universities.  Internship at domestic companies with duration of minimum one month per year is mandatory for all FCSE students. The FSCE offers wide range of selective courses to its students making different profiles capable to cope with different professional challenges. The FSCE students are familiar with English and the languages of the region. Those facts, with combination with HD video conferencing resources that are on FSCE disposal, ease intensive collaboration with abroad Universities including possibility to invite different highly specialized lectures when needed.  The policy of FSCE that encourage open collaboration with academia and industry makes the FSCE very agile for implementing different project ideas.

More information about FCSE can be found at: http://www.finki.ukim.mk/en/home.
